I think mobile marketing is going to be big and I’m so excited and privileged to be positioned to help small businesses leverage this new marketing avenue. I used to help companies with direct mail, then email, then online marketing, then social media. Now, I can’t wait for mobile marketing. It’s just one more tool that should be in every marketer’s toolbox.
Every day, I see more applications for this service. For instance, a friend was telling me that Waffle House already has a program where you can text to a short code and they will respond with the address of the closest restaurant — GREAT! The problem is, I asked my friend what the short code was (this was just a day later) — she couldn’t remember. If I had a hankering for smothered hashbrowns, she couldn’t have helped me. But what if that short code was 90210??? Do you think she could have remembered??? I’m betting she would — and especially when companies all over the country, and soon the world, start using 90210 as part of their branding.
